Council District 1 - Aaron Brown

Background

Aaron Brown is a native to the South Carolina Lowcountry. He attended Bonds Wilson High School in the City of North Charleston and attended South Carolina State University where he earned a B.A. in Education. Aaron later attended the VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, Illinois, and The American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania where he earned a Chartered Life Underwriter Degree. Aaron and his wife Alfreda Esau Brown subscribe to the Christian faith and are members of the Brownsville Community Church of God. Together they have 9 adult children and 8 grandchildren.

Aaron is a self-employed Insurance Broker, serves on the Executive Committee of the NAACP, and is a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals (formerly known as the Society of CLU). In his free time, Aaron enjoys playing the trumpet, walking with wife Alfreda, and playing tennis.

Prior to being elected to Town Council in 2005 Aaron served on the Dorchester County School Board, Dorchester County District 2 School Board and served as Chairman of the South Carolina Manufactured Housing Board from 1980 until 1988.
