Boards & Commissions

Citizens of the Town of Summerville have an opportunity to volunteer their time and expertise on a number of citizen committees, boards, and commissions. Appointments are made by Mayor and Council in December of each year when there are seats with expiring terms.

The Mayor and Council of the Town of Summerville are accepting applications to fill a vacant seat on the Board of Architectural Review for the Historic District of Summerville.

The seat must be filled by a citizen who lives in the Historic District of the Town of Summerville.  Members shall have a demonstrated interest in, or competence and knowledge of, historic preservation, including specific knowledge in at least one of the following areas:  architecture, history, design, architectural history, planning, archaeology, urban planning, American studies, American civilization, cultural geography, cultural anthropology, engineering, law, banking, or real estate.  

The BAR meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m.

The deadline to apply is September 26, 2021.
